Havana Club Selección de Maestros is the perfect expression of the collective work of the Maestros Roneros. It takes over 15 years to master the art of añejamiento.
An exceptional vintage:
To create “Seleccion de Maestros”, the “Maestros Roneros*” select the finest aged rums from Havana Club’s reserves, distinguished by their exceptional qualities.
– From then on, these selected rums are blended and then aged/finished in casks specially chosen by the “Maestros Roneros*” for the powerful aromatic potential of their wood, in which the rums will develop their character and intensity.
– This unique finishing process, known as “Cuban Barrel Proof”, gives rums their unrivalled aromatic bouquet and exceptional quality.
– At the end of the ageing process, the “Maestros Roneros” unanimously select & blend the rums that will make up the final blend.

Havana Club Selección de Maestros embodies the tradition of Cuban rum-making, with its worldwide reputation for excellence. That’s why the Maestros Roneros wanted a top-of-the-range presentation for a product regarded as Accession to the best of Cuban Tradition.

This rum has won a hat-trick of gold medals: in Chicago at the International Review of Spirits 2004, awarded by the Beverage Testing Institute, in London at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2006 and in San Francisco in 2008 at the Spirits Competition.
Tasting notes:
Color: Havana Club “Selección de Maestros” is distinguished by a warm amber hue, with a dark red glow
Nose: a light roasted pecan nose. Spicy aromas reveal robust tobacco flavors with a presence of wood character
Palate: a dynamic attack leads to a complex, savory, full-bodied palate of cocoa, coffee, tobacco and sweet brown spices
Finish: pleasant smoky oak followed by a blended finish between spices and candied fruit to give a remarkable balance.
