Inauguration evening for the Christmas illuminations on the Champs-Elysées

Now an annual ritual, the inauguration ceremony for the Christmas illuminations on the world’s most beautiful avenue draws large crowds and press. On Wednesday November 23, in the presence of the Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë, the President of the Comité Champs-Elysées, Jean-Noël Reinhardt, and many other official figures, Audrey Tautou kicked off the Illuminations des Champs-Elysées 2011-2012 in front of L’Atelier Renault. At 6.40pm, from Place de l’Etoile to Concorde, over a distance of more than 2km, the amazed public discovered the new lighting concept that will adorn 200 trees on the Champs-Elysées avenue until January 11, 2012. The emphasis is once again on reducing energy consumption.
This lighting concept will live to the rhythm of the Champs-Elysées, day and night… Audrey Tautou will be starring in David and Stéphane Foenkinos’ next film, La Délicatesse, in cinemas on December 21, 2011.
