For this new collection, Oliver Swan draws his inspiration from the wonder and emotion he finds in the fascinating spectacle of the perpetual cycles of eternal Nature.
A vital source, the magical origin of colors, shapes and movements, light remains the main muse of Oliver Swan’s quest for perfection. A sculptor of silky materials, he studies volumes, draperies, veils and transparencies, inviting light, for the space of a privileged moment, the time of an encounter, to embrace them, linger in them, indulge in them, languish in them, and finally emerge from them in a firework display of varied reflections, to reveal the metallic accents of gold and silver.
Dedicated to autumn and winter, the “Lumières” collection uses chromatic scales to explore the immutable symbolism of the four elements necessary for life: the brown of the earth, the cerulean blue of an immaculate azure, but also the vivid pinks or turquoise transparency of winter skies that cut their diaphanous beauties into the mirrors of water, or intoxicate with the shimmering coppers and deep golds of a cathartic flame.
The four fundamental elements come alive to the rhythms of time and its moods, playing on the energies of light and dark, the playfulness of daytime colors and the phantasmagoria of nighttime shadows, in a wide variety of matte or glossy, flexible or rigid, transparent or opaque materials. Black is a revealing backdrop, liberating the designer’s luminous palette and underscoring his shimmering homage to life, its tones, hues, nuances and sparkles.
The cuts are strict, sober and close to the body, the materials chosen for their seductive vibrations. Light crosses leathers, chiselled laces or embroidered tulles, fur or feathers.
