To celebrate the centenary of Disney Studios, Leica unveils a limited edition Leica Q2 with a vintage design inspired by the Disney archives. 500 numbered copies of this top-of-the-range camera pay tribute to the fruitful collaboration between the two brands.

Leica and Disney, a century-long shared history

Leica and Disney have been working together since the early days of the animation studio in the 1920s. At the time, Leica cameras revolutionized the technique of animated film.

Leica cameras are responsible for the famous “Leica Reels”, the 35mm animated storyboards that advanced the art of cartooning. A fruitful collaboration that has lasted for almost a century.

The Leica Q2 Disney, a tribute to vintage imagery

To celebrate 100 years of Disney Studios, Leica has drawn on the brand’s archives. The case design is inspired by a 1937 model sheet signed by Don Towsley, one of Disney’s most prolific animators.

The finish is reminiscent of rough drawing paper, with its recognizable grid pattern. As for the hood, it features the unmistakable Mickey silhouette. This limited edition comes with a matching strap and cover.

A top-of-the-range case in ultra-limited series

Beneath this vintage coating, you’ll find the performance of the Leica Q2, a full-frame body that’s an expert in street photography. Its fast autofocus and luminous 28 mm lens work wonders.

Only 500 examples of this special edition will be available worldwide. A rare collector’s item for fans of the German brand and Disney fans alike.

With this anniversary limited series, Leica pays tribute to a century of fruitful collaboration with Disney Studios. An exceptional piece for fans of vintage and fine mechanics.
