TAAKK unveils its new Spring-Summer 2024 collection: An ode to nature

With a particular interest in nature and its mysteries, TAAKK, the renowned men’s ready-to-wear brand, unveils its new Spring-Summer 2024 collection. Signed by emblematic designer Takuya Morikawa, this collection promises to be a true exploration of the relationship between man and nature.

At the heart of this new collection is a simple question: Why does nature speak to us so much? In response, TAAKK proposes a visual journey, a study of empathy through the prism of nature. Nature’s patterns, complex as they may be, retain very specific patterns. The hexagons of a honeycomb, the spiral of a shell, the pattern of a leaf. All testify to an underlying order in the apparent chaos of nature.

Morikawa is no stranger to this singular approach. Since the creation of TAAKK, he has constantly reshaped traditional notions of reality and pushed back the boundaries of innovative menswear design. His multidisciplinary approach incorporates in-depth material research and inventive fabric treatments, in direct collaboration with specialized technicians.

At the heart of this creative process lies the concept of natural forms. As the stripes of a zebra are to the lines of desert sand, the spiral of a shell is to a rotating galaxy, the path of rivers is to the stems of a leaf. We find identical shapes in extremely varied situations.

The question then arises: can we learn the origin of form and design from the works of nature? For Morikawa, nature’s endless presentation of form is nothing less than the result of an eternal process of interplay between individual elements.

TAAKK’s Spring-Summer 2024 collection was born of this questioning, this design philosophy, but also of communication with artisans and a deeper dive into development. Each piece has been created with the utmost care, like a wardrobe created by countless embroidery trials.

The collection will be unveiled virtually from June 2023 and will be available in selected stores worldwide from January 2024.
