Carole Bouquet discovered the island of Pantelleria one summer, 25 years ago, thanks to Isabella Rossellini.

She then acquired a pile of stones, a small house that belonged to Nunzio who sold with her two hectares of vineyards, capers, some olive trees, wasteland… Over time, Carole persisted and bought other plots from more than sixty owners. She then realized that 8 of her 10 hectares were planted with vines, some of which were over 110 years old. She saved them. It was necessary to clear the land, put it back into cultivation and restore the terraces. At first she sold her grapes in bulk, then decided to have them vinified on another estate. The result is not to his liking. He had to wait until 2005 to have his own cellar. Carole did not come to Pantelleria to make wine but the land was the strongest.

Carole Bouquet produces Sangue d’Oro, a complex and bewitching wine. Its golden color with amber reflections captivates the eye, its delicate aromas reveal notes of bergamot, cinchona and dried apricot. Its softness and its beautiful length of mouth give it an incomparable length.

It is best served chilled at 11 degrees before the meal with an old Comté cheese, Roquefort or Parmesan. Otherwise, it is perfect for foie gras or sweet and sour dishes. For dessert, it should be served with dark chocolate or almond or orange ice cream.
