BARRIE
Spring Summer 2021 Collection
Sunny days are embodied by a Barrie collection geared to outdoor joie de vivre. A palette inspired by Scottish flora weaves its romantic tones through light, textured knits, for a delicate wardrobe that bears the signature Barrie style.
Drawing on the landscapes of Scotland and Anglo-Saxon traditions, Augustin Dol-Maillot, Artistic Director of Barrie, has imagined a collection whose clean shapes and sharp details evoke the ease of fine summer days, punctuated by picnics and cricket matches. The ease and simplicity of the silhouettes conceal the skilful complexity of the Barrie hand, and the virtuosity of the technical elements.
Classic knitwear shapes and designs are enhanced by a contemporary twist, as in this charming ensemble of shorts, polo shirt and cardigan in an airy knit inspired by a crochet stitch. A striped theme evokes club ties, but prefers to play up the lightness of contrasting stitches in a cotton-cashmere yarn, available as a t-shirt, little dress or cardigan, in four poetic color themes. Nature is present through an abstract floral motif with a very vintage sensibility, on a collared cardigan that demonstrates all Barrie’s technical know-how. In addition to the traditional Borders, Logo and Flower lines, the Denim range takes on a pastel lemon hue, featured on a new pair of classic pants and greyed trim for a used effect. The Darning models already present for the half-season also adopt a new palette to better emphasize their “stitched” details. The Denim and Darning ranges are also available in men’s versions, in a collection that also includes the essential Thistle Logo line, with its patch T-shirts in this summer’s range of bright colors.
A selection of hats and scarves play with the textures and tones of a palette inspired by Scottish summer, with its greens, whites and blues, and more pop touches of apricot or raspberry, including several shades made-to-measure for the house.
The Barrie Spring/Summer 2022 collection will be available from December in the company’s boutiques and online.
