ARDBEG WEE BEASTIE, The new 5-year-old smoked whisky from Ardbeg distillery
Starting in September, peated whisky lovers will be able to discover the latest expression to join the permanent Ardbeg range: Ardbeg Wee Beastie. Matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks, this truly smoky and intensely powerful 5-year-old reference will suit enthusiasts in both classic and cocktail tastings. From elusive sea creatures to island legends, the Ardbeg distillery is accustomed to telling stories linked to that of the island. This new expression is no exception, drawing its inspiration from Islay’s own peat bogs .
“Ardbeg lovers will appreciate this richly aromatic expression. The casks chosen for its creation give it the versatility to be enjoyed both neat and as the main ingredient in an intensely smoky cocktail” Dr. Bill Lumsden, Ardbeg Creative Director.
While most Single Malts seek the sweetness and balance of aging, this whisky offers a different taste experience. Its fresh, herbaceous nose reveals aromas of cracked black pepper and dried pine resin, both combined with a strong smoky flavor. On the palate, Ardbeg Wee Beastie reveals intense notes of chocolate, smoked bacon and tar, combined with aromatic herbal scents such as aniseed and eucalyptus. The finish is long and saline, with hints of cocoa and salted meat.

This edition will be available from September in a selection of wine shops throughout France and on MH SELECTION.
