Produced with a very low sugar dosage, adjusted to the balance of the vintage, a true exercise in style, this cuvée is the fruit of admirable, precise know-how perpetuated for decades at the domaine. It is a complex blend of Pïnot Noir and Chardonnay plots from our 35 localities, picked and vinified separately for their highly distinctive expression of the MAILLY Champagne Grand Cru terroir. After a long stay in the cellar, where it blossoms and becomes supple, it can be savored like an open book. Its history tells of the richness of Les Baraquines, Les Coutures, Dessus les Godats, Les Crayats… Deep golden color. Generous, gourmet aromas of ripe fruit, dried fruit and pastries. The heart of the wine is invigoratingly unctuous. Carried by the roundness of the Pinot Noir grape, the cuvée asserts itself in a finish of character and generosity that reveals the Grand Cru origins of its native terroir.

Words from the Chef de Caves

This 2012 vintage, with its fresh, dynamic style and suggested ripeness, is resolutely contemporary. The delicacy of the nose, carried by the crunch of yellow fruit, melts into the creaminess of fresh meringue and hazelnut. The citrus dimension, a hallmark of the Mailly terroir, carries the wine in depth, revealing subtle peaty and spicy notes with aeration. The very low dosage underlines the purity of the palate. Straightforward yet tender, with a velvety texture and a tobacco finish that lasts a long time.
