For the first time, the Parisian label reveals a video campaign as well as its first campaign for its accessories line.
Y/PROJECT AW19 ACCESSORIES CAMPAIGN BY FREDERIK HEYMAN from Y/PROJECT on Vimeo.
Frederik Heyman’s work is directly inspired by the Kamasutra jewelry in the Y/PROJECT AH19 collection. This season’s accessories campaign explores our desire to overcome our humanity by featuring digital characters whose movements are produced mechanically.
Frederik Heyman uses the innovative technique of photogrammetry to create digital worlds from relics of the past. His work mixes video, installations and photography, preferably in a world altered by digital technology.
Y/PROJECT accessories, including Kamasutra jewelry, were scanned in 3-D and incorporated into this digital installation. For Heyman, 3-D modeling is not only a means of preserving the past, but also a way of recycling the present and an attempt to shape the future.
Both from Belgium, Y/PROJECT Artistic Director Glenn Martens and Frederik Heyman have been friends since their studies at the Royal Academy of Antwerp, when Frederik created the images for Glenn’s very first collection.“I start my work with 3-D scanning, and create digital installations in a virtual environment. All the bodies were first scanned in 3-D and then combined in large mechanical installations. The Y/PROJECT accessories were also scanned in 3-D, and partly modeled in 3-D.”
