L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Pig

The generous animal sublimated by craftsmanship

Chopard has added an exceptional timepiece to its precious collection of L.U.C XP Urushi timepieces, featuring one of the twelve signs of the zodiac every year. The ancestral Japanese art of Urushi is thus summoned to create a watch on the theme of the Year of the Pig in the traditional Chinese calendar. Generous, perceptive and frivolous, the animal lends its jovial face to a creation of exceptional refinement, powered by an extra-fine L.U.C. caliber, the 96.17-L movement.

The dial of this new zodiac watch, in a limited edition of 88 pieces, is entirely hand-crafted. It features the traditional Japanese Urushi lacquer technique. The scene depicts a golden pig (symbol of abundance), bellied (sign of joviality) on a multicolored forest background. Indeed, in the traditional representation of the Chinese Zodiac, the pig is neither pejorative nor dirty. He’s sincere and hard-working, thoughtful and generous. Consequently, a Year of the Pig is all about hard work and success, as well as festivities.
