Jumby Bay Island, a luxurious private island off the coast of Antigua, has been voted best resort in the Caribbean and fifth best resort in the world by readers of the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler magazine. The award coincides with the recent news that Jumby Bay Island has joined the Oetker Collection. Over 300,000 readers sent in tens of thousands of comments, covering a record 7320 hotels and 225 islands.

“We are proud to be chosen by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler,” says Andrew Hedley, General Manager of Jumby Bay Island. “This award is a testament to the excellence of Jumby Bay Island, its location, service and the strong commitment of our team, who every day deliver an exceptional experience for each and every one of our customers.”

Frank Marrenbach, CEO Oetker Collection, adds: “We are honored by the invaluable recognition from the readers of Conde Nast Traveler for the quality of our team’s services at Jumby Bay Island. This award confirms, if confirmation were needed, that the Collection’s loyal customers have a new home in the West Indies”.

Re-opened in October 2017 as the latest Oetker Collection jewel, Jumby Bay Island is a carefully landscaped 120-hectare private island paradise surrounded by wonderful sandy beaches. Access is by boat only, on turquoise waters. The island offers a luxurious resort with 40 rooms and suites, three restaurants, three tennis courts, a spa and health club, a water sports center and 36 villas, all with exclusive staff.

The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award is the tourism industry’s oldest and most prestigious award for “the best of the best of travel”.
