For the new Spring/Summer 2018 collection Trussardi starts again from Trussardi, from the innovative spirit that has always characterized the brand and the family that created it, to tell a world of contemporary style.
Volumes are ample, like imaginary parachutes. Silk and organza swell on the sleeves and silhouette, then tighten with slides, ties and belts. Abstract drawings of airplane pylons, a memory and emblem of distant travels, become decorative motifs: cut-out and applied leather panels define dresses, outerwear, blouses and pants.
As if seen from above, blurred by distance, imaginary meadows in floral prints seem to fade as dusk slips into night. Aviator suits,
the symbol of flight, are the focus of completely renewed creations inspired by the free and adventurous spirit of great travelers like Amelia Earhart.
For men, the collection takes up these messages, making them lighter, even ironic. Prints are filled with studs and embroidery that mimic airplanes, military badges and decorations. Parachute-effect nylon becomes the star fabric.
Low sandals with platforms, straps and golden buckles alternate with high-heeled clogs with straps around the ankle.
The leather tradition is reinvented to give life to unique accessories, expressions of a new contemporary luxury like GITA BAG, Trussardi’s new icon bag. The Italian word
, from which it takes its name, evokes the idea of a Sunday stroll “outside the walls”, a family rite typical of the peninsular lifestyle. It’s an adventure that doesn’t feed on faraway places, but on typically Italian style, traditions and elegance. Inspired by an archival model, GITA BAG transports the classic into the contemporary with leatherwork details, a compact shape and a set of accessories that evoke the tags, labels and badges that accumulate on a suitcase after many trips. GITA BAG will be presented in three versions, regular, medium and mini, and in the color and leather variants of the Spring/Summer 2018 collection, immediately available on Trussardi.com
