Deauville, France’s poker stronghold! This week, the Normandy town of Deauville played host to the France Poker Series in the Casino Barrière’s legendary Salon des Ambassadeurs, just a stone’s throw from the Hotel Normandy. 615 players competed in the main event, which cost €1,100. The structure of the tournament was superb. The Barrière and PokerStars teams did a superb job on this festival, without a single false note.

Numerous figures from the circuit made the trip, including PMU Team Pro Erwann Pecheux, his compadre Pierre Merlin, the inescapable ElkY, who finished 12th, and Betclic player Benjamin Pollak, who took a fine 4th place for just over 39,000 euros. French poker pioneer Bruno Fitoussi was also there.
In addition to the main tournament, numerous side tournaments were organized. The casino terrace was open, and playing a tournament in September is a very pleasant experience. Streaming of the Final Table was particularly well attended, with over 3,000 spectators on average.
