Luxsure will once again be partnering one of France’s most influential modern art and design fairs.

In October, the Art Élysées – Art & Design fair celebrates its tenth anniversary. An opportunity to look back on the history of its creation and to understand the success of this event. For its 10th edition, the Art Élysées – Art & Design fair is reaffirming the strengths of its identity: its demand for exceptional quality thanks to a rigorous selection; its generalist tendency, offering a balanced panorama of modern art, contemporary art and design; its location in the heart of Paris on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées; its active participation in the capital’s artistic dynamism, in cohesion with public and private players in the art and culture world. These are the unique features that set it apart. Today, Art Elysées – Art & Design occupies a key position, offering a complementary and essential fair for art lovers and collectors in search of the very best.2007 – 2016

THE CREATION OF THE FAIR
10 YEARS
Originally named “Les Élysées de l’Art”, the fair was launched in October 2007 under two tents set up on avenue des Champs-Elysées, from Place de la Concorde to the Grand Palais, at the same time as Fiac, Slick,
Show Off… In the beginning, the organizers of Art Elysées – Art & Design wanted to meet the demand from French galleries who wanted to be present during the October week dedicated to art in Paris, as well as to offer a new event to collectors happy to rediscover the artists who have marked the history of twentieth-century art, and to discover works of contemporary art that were both high quality and accessible. Since then, the organizers have continued to work closely with exhibitors, cultural organizations and foundations, and at the same time to put on original exhibitions of outstanding works of art, so as to ensure that this promising fair, which is now one of the major art events of the year, grows from strength to strength.

THE VISION OF ART ÉLYSÉES-ART & DESIGN: TO OFFER AN INTEMPORARY JOURNEY
The constant and regular success of this fair is due to the fact that the organizers do not seek to be fashionable. With its modern art rather than contemporary positioning, often referred to as a “wise” fair, it’s not a question of being wise, but of offering an itinerary of galleries that guarantee quality works before trying to be above all international… or “in tune with the times”. This is not incompatible with being innovative, as the fair has already been through its original exhibitions, the creation of its 3rd pavilion dedicated to the 20th century, 7 years ago; or the construction of its fourth pavilion, 8th Avenue dedicated to contemporary art today and the first fair to offer a section to urban art galleries.

PROGRAMME 2016
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the fair, the organizers have set up various events within the Exposition Jean Dubuffet
Evénements: the SALON, VIA, Exposition PArk Hyatt Vendôme and Parcours VIP, the 8e Avenue lounge.

ART SECTION: DUBUFFET
To mark the 10th anniversary of Art Elysées- Art & Design, the organizers are delighted to present fair visitors with a rare exhibition of drawings and prints by Jean Dubuffet. Dubuffet is better known to the general public for his paintings, sculptures and monumental installations. This exhibition presents the painter’s research work in a style known as art brut, depicting whimsical figures in everyday activities that seem irrational, given his flattened perspectives, crude drawing and unexpected juxtapositions.

DESIGN SECTION : LE SALON
Since its creation in 2009, the Design section of Art Elysées has been renowned for its focus on 20th-century design. This year, the fair is as- sociating with Via, which will present its selection of galleries and publishing houses championing young designers from the new scene. The fair is also pleased to present “SALON”, a unique exhibition concept created by Berlin-based Galerie Michael Fuchs. Inspired by the gallery founder’s personal approach to collecting, “SALON” takes an unexpected approach to collecting, presenting art in all its forms as an intrinsic part of our daily lives as well as an art of living. In a staging that recreates the elegant interior of an eclectic and passionate collector, a selection of contemporary, modern and classic artworks blend with iconic furniture and design pieces by leading names. The project’s innovative staging aims to show that, whatever the era, “beauty mixes”.

VIP TOUR
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Art Elysées – Art & Design Fair, a VIP tour has been created in collaboration with contemporary art specialist Constance Breton. The itinerary will feature cultural interventions in the “Salon”, a VIP area in the pavilion dedicated to art and design.
Speakers from the worlds of culture and luxury will orchestrate conversations on topics such as luxury and art, or art 2.0… These talks will take place at the show on Thursday October 20 at 11:30 am and Friday October 21 at 1:30 pm.
This VIP tour will also include an “hors les murs” event in partnership with the Park Hyatt – Paris Vendôme, featuring works by artist Pierre Marie Lejeune represented by La Galerie Messine.
The fair maintains its focus on classic modern and contemporary art, and is delighted to welcome new exhibitors such as Galerie Berès, Galerie Hélène Bailly, Opéra Gallery and Guy Pieters Gallery, who will be presenting two exceptional solo shows by Christo and Niki de saint Phalle.
Art Elysées-Art & Design is also 50% contemporary art galleries, with AD galerie, Baudoin Lebon, galerie du Centre, Kálmán Makláry Gallery, Francoise Livinec, GNG, Lélia Mordoch presenting a solo show by Japanese artist Yukio Imamura, Barcelona gallery Miquel Alzueta, Galerie Francesco Vangelli de’ Cresci…. and among the new contemporary art galleries: Cortina, Charron, 1831, Victor Lope, Art22 gallery…
The fair continues to offer more geometric abstraction with galleries Espace Meyer Zafra, Olivier Waltman, Gim- pel and Müller, and welcomes for their first participation the Italian Boesso Art Gallery, Mark Hachem, Galerie Wagner and Hubert Konrad, now more specialized in 20th-century kinetic art with Antonio Asis, Luis Tomasel- lo, Carlos Cruz Diez, Dario Perez Florez and Nathalie Cohen, as well as Arthur Dorval for 21st-century kinetic art.
