The famous Italian brand renowned for its prints unveils a flashy pop collection.
The Resort 2017 collection from Emilio Pucci, now under the direction of artistic designer Massimo Giorgetti, was presented in Milan in June 2016. It took up all the house’s codes, adding a touch of eccentricity. The spirit of the brand’s founder, Emilio Pucci, is fully reflected, first and foremost in the sensual, flowing lines that allow great freedom of movement, and in a dazzling palette of bright colors, graphic prints, mosaics and exotic-inspired geometric patterns. It’s a veritable kaleidoscope of sparkling colors.
38 pieces make up this collection, all in sophisticated, chic patterns. We witness a veritable firework display of bright colors: orange, bright blue, purple, yellow, green, black, white, brilliant textiles that follow the movements. Prints dominate: bamboos, graphic motifs, waves, swirls. The spirit is summery, with full dresses, short, wide sleeves, oversized ruffles and 50s-style waistlines. Here, swimwear becomes clothing, matched with a parka or worn with a long skirt with asymmetrical panels.
The jacket/trouser set asserts the pyjama trend with a straight, supple cut on a print of luminous bouquets of color on a black background. The coat dress is reminiscent of a comfortable bathrobe, with a rounded cut and a mix of shimmering colors on the same model: a blend of orange and bright blue for a loose, casual blouse and pant set.
Accessories are an important part of the collection: tote bags, very long macramé-style cords with intricate braiding, always matching the colors of the garment. Straw hats, also reminiscent of those worn in the 50s, with very long bangs covering the face. Two models in all the colors of the range for sophisticated, original footwear: pointed-toe booties with a cutout, colors provoking a trompe l’oeil pattern, or little pumps with a bow on top, transparent sides and heels representing a two-tone cube matching the color of the garment.
