Château Larrivaux is located in Cissac-Médoc, southwest of the prestigious Saint-Estephe appellation. The estate extends over 75 hectares, 19 of which are dedicated to viticulture. The vineyard is spread over three blocks of plots that surround the property. In 2005, Bérangère Tesseron was entrusted with the reins of the family property by her aunt and mother, Armelle and Sabine Carlsberg.
Since 1580, Château Larrivaux has been handed down by the women of the family and it was in 1861 that the first bottles were produced. Bérangère dedicates her life and her passion to this property with the help of Eric Boissenot, a famous oenologist. The terroir of Château Larrivaux is composed of 70% gravelly clay soil and 30% limestone clay soil, which brings power and elegance to its wines. Contrary to the classical grape varieties of the Médoc, the true signature of Château Larrivaux is the choice to cultivate mainly Merlot, which is better adapted to the terroir, and which allows us to obtain round and fleshy wines.
The vineyard is composed of 61% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Each year, Bérangère and her team offer to the amateurs, a wine of great quality elaborated in the respect of the soil and its history. This property full of charm thanks to its park, its garenne and its woods, welcomes visitors who wish to discover it.
Château Larrivaux 2012 has a brilliant purple color. Its nose offers a beautiful intensity, where notes of cherry, blackcurrant and toasted wood melt into the bouquet. In line with previous great vintages, Château Larrivaux 2012 is characterized by its smoothness and suppleness. The volume and fatness of the attack gives way to a dense and fleshy mid-palate that ends on a long finish, accompanied by very fast tannins. Château Larrivaux 2012 represents a great success that will stand out for its great quality.
CHATEAU LARRIVAUX 2012 IS AVAILABLE BETWEEN 11 AND 12 EUROS
