L’Œuf du peintre is the latest Easter creation from Les Etangs de Corot pastry chef Yannick Begel.

While he drew inspiration for his Yule log from the forest that borders the hotel, it was the history of the area that inspired his bold Easter egg.
The hotel Les Etangs de Corot is located in Ville-d’Avray, a commune that has attracted painters, writers, musicians and other artists to its peaceful ponds since the 19th century.
. One of them even gave them his name: the painter Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot.
It was here that he painted his first landscapes, when he was barely younger than me,” insists Yannick Begel, “so paying tribute to him was an obvious choice!”

The Pastry Chef has created an egg of multiple flavors, textures and colors, like the work of a painter intoxicated by his canvas. The tangy taste of the creamy lemon combines wonderfully with its base,
a gourmet sablé with semi-salted butter. The white chocolate palette and meringues crackle and melt in your mouth.
A deliciously soft almond cookie is the sweet finish, and even the dark chocolate brush is tasty.
An original creation that awakens our curiosity and reminds us that art is more easily shared than we think!

Served as a dessert at the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Corot from March 25 to 27, 2016 inclusive, and to be enjoyed in the tearoom from March 25 to 28, 2016 inclusive, for the price of 24 euros.
