At the recent SIHH, the fine house of MB&F presented two masterpieces.
HM6 ‘SV’
Admittedly, the HM6 ‘SV’ is a new variation on the existing HM6… but an extreme variation, which radically changes the expression of this Machine. The previous titanium or rose gold armor has been replaced by a crystalline sapphire carapace: a sophisticated composition totalling no less than 11 sapphire domes, encircled by a streamlined rose gold or platinum caseband. Such a quantity of sapphire requires intensive work… around 350 hours, the equivalent of 2 months of working days, to fashion a single case! Both editions are logically very limited: only 10 pieces each.
Sherman
Judging by the number of impressions, it’s safe to say that our new robot-clock was one of the show’s most popular personalities. The result of a new collaboration between MB&F (concept and design) and L’Epée 1839 (engineering and manufacture), ‘Sherman’ performs just two tasks… but on both of them, it delivers. First, it tells the time; precisely, and with an 8-day power reserve. But its real superpower is a much rarer function: it will make you smile. Probably the most precious complication of all…
