This weekend 2,000 poker players gathered at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris for the launch of the Winamax Poker Tour (WiPT) live stages. For the5th yearrunning, this was the biggest live poker gathering ever held in France. After two days of competition, 41 players qualified for the WiPT grand final, which will be held at Cercle Clichy Montmartre in March 2016, including Winamax Team Pro Guillaume Diaz.
The Winamax Poker Tour, a competition like no other!
“You are the France of Poker”, exclaimed Patrick Bruel as he kicked off the Paris leg of the event. A total of 2,000 participants took part in the two-day event, in the company of Team Winamax pros and celebrities such as Daniel Riolo, Fred Chau and Raymond Domenech. It was also an opportunity for the public to discover the latest Winamax recruit, Alexandre Luneau.
Over the course of this great weekend of poker festivities, 200 players were awarded prizes, 41 of them earning their free qualification for the WiPT final, scheduled for March 2016.

Poker as you’ve never seen it before
Alongside the main tournament, a host of events ensured that players had an unforgettable weekend. On the poker side, there were side events, consolation tournaments and plenty of opportunities to meet up at the numerous sit & go events.
Players were also able to enjoy a screening of the Winamax series ” Dans la Tête d’Un Pro ” filmed during the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, a Winamax merchandise showroom and the Sports Bar, where sports betting and match broadcasts were the order of the day.
Finally, players who couldn’t make the trip were able to follow the tournament live via streaming provided by the hosts of Multiplex Poker, Winamax’s live tournament radio station.

The Paris stage is now over, but the Winamax Poker Tour is just getting started! See you on the roads of France, with 44 stages organized in 32 French cities between November 2015 and January 2016. . More than 10,000 players are expected to take part in these regional tournaments: the best of them will qualify free of charge for the Tour’s grand final, scheduled for March at the Cercle Clichy-Montmartre, where Winamax guarantees 500,000 euros in prize money. The last WiPT final attracted 1,306 players, with Olivier Decamps emerging victorious, taking home 100,000 euros!
