Trained as a stylist, pattern-maker and tailor, Roland Chaillard has become a key player in high-end, luxury menswear. When he founded his eponymous swimsuit brand in 2002, he wanted to “create seaside collections with tailoring inspiration and know-how, taking up the codes of Couture”. He then designed the “Smoking de bain” line.
Each of his creations is imbued with a simple hedonism inspired by refinement and relaxation. Roland Chaillard designs in his Parisian workshops, and enjoys finding the ideal balance between lines and materials, making each of his collections unique and authentic. With their selection of technical fabrics, their attention to detail and their cut, the Men’s swimwear collections have revealed season after season a refinement and elegance that is delicate, sensual and warm. For men, the codes of the male wardrobe are interpreted in swim briefs, swim boxer shorts, swim shorts and swim tuxedos. They provide structure, contrast, comfort and assertive style.
For this summer, Il vibrates to the sound of telescoping styles and vintage references, in complete freedom from the past. The elegance of a Gatsby and the masculinity of a Bond. Roland Chaillard is the only company that can claim to offer made-to-measure swimwear, offering its tailoring expertise for made-to-measure swimwear creations. Based on the customer’s morphology, the pieces are cut and assembled in the House’s Paris workshop. The ultimate in refinement, black pearl hand embroidery, a reference to caviar grains, is offered in an “Art Deco” motif or in a band reminiscent of the satin of tuxedo pants.
