On the occasion of Milan Design Week, Tolix celebrates the 80th anniversary of the “Chaise A”, which has become an icon of industrial aesthetics. To celebrate the anniversary in style, Veuve Clicquot and Tolix have teamed up to create a limited edition of this landmark piece.

A visionary in wine-making and design, Maison Veuve Clicquot has teamed up with French design icon Tolix to create the “Chaise Y”, which will be unveiled at this year’s Milan Design Week 2015. To celebrate the excellence of both brands, Veuve Clicquot designer Julien Ceder has joined forces with the Tolix design studio to combine the iconic shape of the Model A chair with the “Clicquot twist”, while reinterpreting Veuve Clicquot’s signature yellow.

The “Chaise A”, this mythical chair in pressed sheet metal, has made a name for itself thanks to its “rock-solid solidity, unrivalled lightness and easy maintenance”. Since 1934, its undying popularity has earned it a place in the collections of the Vitra Design Museum, the MOMA and the Centre Pompidou, perpetuating its place in the history of design.
