In the basement of the Palais de Tokyo, where raw concrete mingles with exposed pipes and wires, Rick Owens chose to present his latest women’s collection. For the American designer, women become both mystical creatures and science-fiction characters. The faces of several models are completely covered in silver or gold. Volumes recur on tunics, seemingly carried away by a wave of parachute or fleece textures on the front, or on the contrary featuring wings with several panels of fabric on the back. Rick Owens chose to add a romantic touch with sequins, notably on long tube dresses or scattered in tongues on the bottom. The work on volumes and materials is always very interesting, not only to look at but also to wear. Of particular note: this truly audacious and sublime make-up.
