Christophe-Nicolas Biot knew he wanted to be a hairdresser one day when he accompanied his mother to get her hair done. He loved the atmosphere of the salon, the smell of hairspray, the complicity between the hairdressers and their customers… He was 14 at the time! Like all hairdressers, Christophe-Nicolas Biot started out as an apprentice. He was lucky enough to learn his trade from a “meilleur ouvrier de France” in a leading Mulhouse salon. Propelled onto the stage at the age of 17 by the artistic direction of Wella France, he learned the importance of dexterity, precision and rapidity of gesture during shows.

CNB PortraitChristophe-Nicolas believes that you can’t do this job without a real passion, a good dose of talent, a lot of hard work, a bit of luck and some great encounters: “I became a company director because I like leading people, sharing the same passion as I do”.

“I had some wonderful encounters, including a costume designer who told me she was working on a play and I had to take care of an actress who didn’t know how to do her hair. I went and waited in the theater dressing room while the actress rehearsed, and when she came back to her dressing room I discovered Emmanuelle Sainier. I looked after Emmanuelle for over ten years. I looked after her looks, her films. Thanks to her, I met Roman Polanski, where I contributed to The Pianist. It wasn’t long before I had an article in ELLE with Emmanuelle, and from there it all began. I started doing a lot of people’s hair on shoots”. Always on the lookout for the best addresses, many celebrities put their trust in Christophe-Nicolas Biot and remain loyal to him: Amanda Lear, Bixente Lizarazu, Isabelle Adjani, Isabelle Huppert, Laëtitia Casta, Nathalie Baye, Sarah Forestier,… like to visit this intimate salon in the heart of Saint-Germain Des Près.

He has won recognition for his work from the professional hairdressing community. His shows around the world are eagerly awaited. He conceives them as true visual spectacles in the style of musicals. His artistic choices leave nothing to chance: music, styling, models, everything is meticulously studied to create a coherent, breathtaking whole.

Christophe-Nicolas is a visionary in the hairdressing world, always ahead of the trends and in tune with his customers, he becomes the translator of their desires and needs. That’s why, shortly after opening his Maison de Coiffure in 2010, he created the “Bar à chignons Minute”. This innovative concept was an instant success. At the end of 2013, he launched “Le Bar des Coloristes”, a totally new concept, halfway between coloring sold in supermarkets, without any professional advice, and hairdressing salon services. It lets you buy and make your own professional, made-to-measure hair color at home, minus the cost of the service.

In 2014 he created essential accessories for creating chignons or ties worthy of a professional. A line of four combs, hair jewelry, hairspray and dry shampoo to extend the Minute Chignon Bar experience.
