The seventies spirit and the world of sports, at the heart of Tommy Hilfiger’s collection…Tommy Hilfiger is one of New York Fashion Week’s great rendez-vous, and the American designer has a knack for transforming his shows into real shows every time. For fall/winter 2015, the show featured a huge American soccer field with giant screens and the greatest hits playing in the background, from Jackson 5 to Beyonce. Tommy Hilfiger’s ever-present sport returns as a central element, but twisted into an urban wardrobe. Players’ numbers appear on leather sweaters and dresses in red-camel-brown hues. Coaches’ jackets become trendy bombers. Denim is reworked. Skirts are finished in bands with lace and crepe lining. The seventies spirit is ever-present, with a nod to Ali Mc Graw, the heroine of Love Story, which inspired the designer. Not forgetting a revival of timeless Tommy Hilfiger basics, reminiscent of the early days as the house founded in 1985 celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2015. And don’t forget all the faux fur sweaters to snap up right now.
