The new film directed by Clint Eastwood traces the destiny of Chris Kyle, the Navy Seals’ most talented sniper, who became a legend after being sent on four missions to Iraq.
The film reveals what his work in the field really consisted of (at the risk of shocking people), but also explores the character’s psychology: his childhood, his motivations (religion, homeland and family, in that order), his courage, his cases of conscience, his return home and, above all, his relationship as a couple.
The film is truly a realistic portrait of a man in his entirety, not just a soldier.
On the casting front, Bradley Cooper plays Chris Kyle brilliantly, and Sienna Miller is particularly convincing as his wife Taya.

What’s more, the film’s surprising final minutes allow viewers to reflect on the surprises of fate. A real success, to be seen urgently.
