Marrakech is a mythical and magical city, with friendly people and hidden treasures in its streets. One of its oldest and most wonderful treasures is the Maison Arabe. This riad is at the origin of the whole tourist wave around Marrakech and the riad craze. It’s a Marrakchi institution that we had the pleasure of testing for you.
When you come to Marrakech and want to live in the Medina, you’re looking for authenticity. La Maison Arabe is the definition of this authenticity, while offering the luxury and opulence that is due to a house with so much history. With the grace of its refined architecture, its history and the warmth of its welcome, La Maison Arabe – a place of memory and a veritable Marrakchi myth – is an oasis in the city, a magical, irresistible place, a real ” home”, where you can understand all the sweetness of Oriental living, full of warmth, intimacy and luxurious, comfortable harmony.
The history of this incredible place dates back to the 40s, when it was first a restaurant, the first in the Medina, run by two Frenchwomen whose history has left its mark on the city. For many years, the restaurant was a magical meeting place for the stars and personalities who made Marrakech such a success, from Winston Churchill to General de Gaulle.
The 26 rooms and suites, the two restaurants – “Le Restaurant” and “Les Trois Saveurs”, the Piano-Jazz Bar, the Spa, and the new cooking workshops in the “Jardins de la Kasbah”, a fifteen-minute shuttle ride on the road to Ouarzazate, with its garden of scents, the pool’s water mirror: everything, everything at La Maison Arabe bears the stamp of assured taste, that of the master of the house, Prince Fabrizio Ruspoli, a delightful character with an incredible life.
