A flagship for the Renault brand, the Atelier Renault on the world’s most beautiful avenue continues to reinvent itself.
Pioneering and visionary, Renault was the first automobile brand to take its place on the world’s most beautiful avenue, on a certain May 23, 1910. To create the avenue’s first automobile showcase, the French manufacturer set up shop as close as possible to the Grand Palais, which had been home to the Salon de l’Automobile since 1901. A symbol of the brand’s prestige, the Magasin Renault on the Champs Elysées welcomed distinguished visitors, businessmen, industrialists and artists. Foreigners also flock in large numbers, not only to visit Paris, but also to order a Renault for delivery outside France. The location and prestige of the Magasin Renault des Champs-Elysées naturally led it to become a strategic place for the brand.
Half a century after the creation of the Magasin des Champs-Elysées, Renault was looking for a new concept as enlightened as the one of 1910. That’s when Le Pub Renault opened its doors on October 3, 1962, the opening day of the Salon de l’Automobile at Porte de Versailles. Around a few of the cars on display, visitors to the Pub discover a place to meet and exchange ideas. It’s open every day, at any time of the day or night, thanks to its bar and restaurant. The Pub’s décor is intensely automotive, with intimate alcoves that reproduce the interiors of classic vehicles, including their seats, upholstery, woodwork and brasswork. The store to live in is born.
The Atelier Renault, as we know it today, was born on November 13, 2000, more than thirty years after the Pub Renault. This change was in line with a new brand image, “Renault, Créateur d’automobiles”. The site is intended to express Renault’s openness to the world and its diversity.
The space, designed to be transparent and fluid, is built around aerial elements, giving it a resolutely modern tone.
This year, a new Atelier Renault is on offer.
New decor, new catering menu, new entertainment concepts. The values of the Renault brand live on loud and clear. L’Atelier remains the group’s showcase and a magnificent venue for events and launches. Whether you’re looking for entertainment, dining or shopping, there’s something for everyone, young and old alike.
