Essences insensées eau de parfum, part of Diptyque’s 34 collection, is inspired by an ancient tradition of master perfumers known as “mille fleurs”: a combination of the scents of the year’s flowers and plants.
The brand has teamed up with perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin to revisit this “mille feuilles” at Firmenich’s Grasse site. The mimosa was chosen as the signature plant because of the exceptional quality of its blooms in the Grasse hills.
On the nose, the freshness of this fragrance is lightly spiced with a hint of pepper and violet. Vanilla and beeswax gradually dominate over floral notes of mimosa.
The bottle was imagined from the archives of master glassmaker Waltersperger, timeless, engraved with a motif of leaves and flowers, again inspired by the mimosa, and fitted with a black pear for a touch of elegance.
Essences Insensées is also available as a concrete perfume in a brass-finish zamak case.

Limited edition priced at €120 for the 100ml bottle and €45 for the solid perfume.
