Singing in a karaoke bar in Paris… The question quickly turns into a headache. Apart from pizzerias and Chinese restaurants offering late-night sing-alongs, there were no dedicated karaoke venues. The Bam Karaoke Box filled the gap. A cosy, beautifully decorated venue in the heart of Paris’s 9th arrondissement.
On a Saturday evening, I tried out this new venue. 11pm, on the sidewalk, troops of young girls prepare to enter for a night out with their girlfriends. I’m with a few friends and we enter a small high-tech room with benches. We can adjust the lights and sound, and have access to a device that lets us choose from a wide selection of songs the one we want to perform. From Sinatra to Gilbert Montagné to Jean-Jacques Goldman. The sound is good. Bose speakers are mounted on the walls.
The 2-hour session goes by very quickly, and you have a really good time. A bar is available for guests.
In short, the Bam Karaoke Box is a truly original venue. For two hours, you can let loose in a cosy little bubble. I highly recommend it!
