Curio – Collection by Hilton
“The rumors were well-founded”.
Hilton Worldwide recently announced the launch of Curio, acollection by Hilton of starred hotels steeped in history, rigorously selected for travelers eager for discovery and authenticity.
The future Curio hotels will retain their individual identities and benefit from the quality of service and expertise of the Hilton group. All awarded four or five stars, the hotels will meet the Hilton standard recognized in the world of luxury hotels. The establishments will be renovated and refurbished by renowned designers, and will feature top names in cuisine.
Hilton’s new concept, Curio, has just acquired the SLS Las Vegas, formerly the Sahara Hotel & Resort, the premise of a larger project. The following properties have also been acquired: the Sam Houston Hotel in Houston, the Alex Johnson Hotel in Rapid City and the Franklin Hotel in Chapel Hill.
The SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is the perfect example of this large-scale project. Renovated to the tune of $415,000,000 by the James Beard Foundation and Philippe Starck, among others, the hotel now features 1,620 rooms and suites, a casino, flexible meeting spaces and a collection of renowned restaurants and nightclubs.
The international project, Curio, is aimed at a business and leisure clientele broader than the Hilton target. Hilton Worldwide’s eleventh and newest brand will participate in the development of the “Hilton HHonors” loyalty program.
