Villa N & Crankshaft
A wind of nostalgia blows over the universally successful Tropezian brand,
The golden age of the French Riviera and its patrons take center stage in the groundbreaking Villa N & Vilebrequin micro-collection. Inspired by the sportswear that Charles and Marie Laure de Noailles – two high-ranking aesthetes and patrons of the arts – used to offer to their illustrious guests staying at their villa in Hyères, Var.
An emblem of modernity and good taste, the Villa Noailles or Villa Saint-Bernard, built in 1920 by Robert Mallet-Stevens, has welcomed within its walls the greatest artists of their time, strolling between swimming pool, squash court and gardens.
Following in the footsteps of this illustrious couple, Vilebrequin is donating all profits from this limited edition to the Association des Amis de Saint-Bernard, contributing to local artistic outreach and the preservation of the villa.
The wardrobe, identical to that worn by Salvador Dali, Yves Saint Laurent and Jean Cocteau at the Villa Noailles, consisted of a swimsuit – shorty – vertically striped with black and white stripes, matched by a white marcel embroidered on the back and highlighted with a black braid at the neckline and armhole.
Launched in April, during the Hyères Fashion and Photography Festival, the ultra-limited collection, designed in 2000 pieces, will be available through a selected distribution network.
