La Demeure: the design hotel on the Left Bank

Located in the Gobelins district, the brand-new 3-star La Demeure hotel opened its doors to us for one night.

This establishment was founded by the Cauet family, father Jean-Michel and sons Sylvain and François-Xavier, in this emblematic district of Paris. Here, we find the fundamentals of the hotel business, with the added bonus of a personalized welcome: in fact, the managers remain available to residents.

43 rooms, including 6 suites, designed by the Flavie+Paul design duo.

These young designers wanted to give the room a cosy feel while retaining the codes of Parisian chic. What’s more, after a survey of customer behavior, Flavie and Paul decided to make the bedroom layout more practical and functional, notably by doing away with the standard wardrobe and replacing it with a hanging space covered by a curtain.

The style of the 37 rooms is rather urban, with standard furniture transformed into practical design objects. The dressing table has been modernized, the headboards have been transformed, and the flow of the curtains has been degraded, but remains just as chic.

Then come the 6 themed suites:

The cinema suite :

Video projector and large screen, a perfect view of the big screen from your bed! The curtains are also inspired by the desert from Once Upon a Time in the West.

A superb view of Paris, surrealism in these two suites where the poufs take the form of pigs, the sofas become ghosts and the mirrors are transformed into planispheres.

There are also 2 large lounges, suitable for all occasions: a morning lounge, where residents are welcomed around a large desk with computers at their disposal.

And an evening lounge featuring a fireplace, white leather sofas and a large mirror, a glamorous and comfortable atmosphere to match.

The breakfast room on the ground floor features an old-fashioned jam bar with a variety of flavors to be enjoyed every morning.

If you’re looking for a well-located hotel in Paris with good value for money, we highly recommend La Demeure, with its minimalist chic decor, little touches of whimsy and particularly warm welcome.
