In the heart of Provence, in the foothills of the Massif des Maures, nestled in a natural cirque, the Commanderie de Peyrassol estate, a jewel of the Templar Order, extends over almost 950 hectares dotted with oak and olive groves, 90 of which are dedicated to the cultivation of vines. It is also home to France’s finest monumental sculpture garden.

Today, the Domaine de Peyrassol produces great wines that owe their harmony and delicacy to this environment, combined with carefully selected grape varieties. Cinsault, grenache, syrah, cabernet-sauvignon, tibouren, merlot, for the red wines; rolle, ugniblanc, semillon, sauvignon, muscat blanc, clairette, viognier, for the whites.

An art enthusiast, Philippe Austruy has created a veritable open-air museum at Peyrassol, which he has added to according to his whims. Amid vineyards and woods, the estate conceals a sublime path lined with monumental sculptures. The coherence of the installation, magnified by the beauty of the natural site, gives each of the forty or so works a breathtaking and original setting.

To symbolize a long-standing friendship between contemporary artist Bernar Venet and Philippe Austruy, owner of the Commanderie de Peyrassol, a special cuvée has been created: Noir de Bernar.

The creator offers this cuvée, which he has selected for its qualities, an exclusive limited edition bottle.

All in black, the bottle’s elegant design matches its contents, a Côte de Provence Rouge A.O.P.
