Elie Saab is the couturier of excellence and assertive femininity.
For this Fall Winter 2014-2015 collection, Elie Saab offers a minimalist, graphic and luminous collection. Inspired initially by Mark Rohtko, it is dedicated, like his work, to color: here, deep red and empire green, masters of the body, sculpt the allure in a bewitching way. Each nuance is a pretext for asymmetrical lines reminiscent of the highly structured lines of the 50s and 60s.
Declined in a few colors, each model resembles a modulation of carefully crafted pigments: skin pink, crimson red, forest green stretch to deep, dark black. The seasonal print, in turn, reveals itself as a carpet of dark, romantically inspired flowers.
Tone-on-tone gradations, silhouettes evolve in a play of precious materials: here, a diapered, structured fur coat takes shape in an elegant, sensual way. Here, embroidered sequins adorn and illuminate a vertiginous dress.
By day, cuts are short and graphic: vertical slits cut into the bodice and shoulders; others frame the hips. Deliciously openworked, they let the skin vibrate and force the eye to discover the shaded nuances of their palette.
In keeping with its passion for femininity, Elie SAAB has designed a new range of accessories to be worn like the most precious jewels. Mink, crocodile and soft leather make up the bags that match the graphic shapes of the collection. To be worn at the end of their finely braided chain handles.
An audacious accomplice, a gold-framed minaudière accompanies the ebony-black embroidered dresses in the evening. Dressed for night, the last silhouette disappears, resolutely seductive and suggestive.
Season after season, Elie Saab reinvents an increasingly sophisticated femininity whose precision and accuracy we can only admire. This collection, darker than usual, is a perfect success.
