During this Fashion Week, Luxsure was invited to discover the Autumn-Winter 2014-2015 collection by Sylvio Giardina, an Italian designer who works with form and material from every angle. The starting point for the collection was these two sculptural dresses, featuring work on structure and form that modifies the silhouette.

This collection is divided into two moods; one, gray and silver, mixes materials and textures. The designer has taken the wool used for men’s suits and combined it with satin, for a masculine-feminine ensemble; faux-leather and wool inserts complete the whole, blending with the basic materials in a round, voluptuous way.

The second mood is warmer, in gold and dark green. Metallic jerseys are combined with lightweight neoprene, embossed silk and vinyl, so that an all-black garment takes on a remarkable relief thanks to Sylvio Giardina’s play on materials.

This collection has a very clear guideline: the mix of materials, the work on shape and the lines of the garments stand out for their roundness and asymmetry. Epaulettes, curved sleeves, ruffles and pleats are used to enhance the innovative materials used, giving the pieces relief and intensity.
