Monte Carlo welcomes the most prestigious of stages, a first in the heart of Monaco.
As part of a major real estate and urban planning project orchestrated by the Société des Bains de Mer, the Sporting d’Hiver will be replaced in 2018 by three buildings, combining shops, upscale residences, offices, leisure and cultural areas.
During the 4-year construction period, architect Richard Martinet has designed a one-of-a-kind ephemeral complex in the Jardins des Boulingrins, Place du Casino. The project will house luxury boutiques in 5 rounded, futuristic, pebble-like pavilions clad in an off-white shell: “Les Pavillons des Merveilles”.
A new and original way of dressing the palisades will offer Monegasques and visitors alike a journey into the fairytale world of the future “Pavillons des Merveilles” boutiques. Drawing on Richard Martinet’s architectural language, the studio has designed the palisades in keeping with the Pavillons des Merveilles design gesture, and recreates the universe of the boutiques with the “Vitrines Merveilleuses”.
From December 12, 2013 to January 31, 2014, the world’s most prestigious names (Dior Couture, Louis Vuitton, Fred, Bulgari, Dior Parfums) will be inaugurating this concept, the first of its kind anywhere in the world, and will have the opportunity to enchant viewers in an exceptional glamorous and prestigious universe located in the heart of Monaco. The Vitrines des Merveilles are the result of unrivalled high-tech know-how and a futuristic spirit. Between walls of LEDs and percussive screens, the Pavillons des Merveilles promise to offer an exceptional shopping experience.
The movingdesign studio works with brands and architects to establish an emotional link between the site, the brands and the over-solicited public in public spaces, in the form of aesthetic and poetic digital installations and objects.
On either side of the construction site, two large LED displays, each measuring over 10m x 2.50m, recreate the shop windows of tomorrow, and will host messages from the brands. Dior Couture, Louis Vuitton, Fred, Bulgari and Dior Parfums will occupy the Vitrines Merveilleuses over the months of December and January, opening a display that will run until September 2014, when the Pavillons des Merveilles are completed.
