Founded in 2005, Eye-Fi, the international market leader in SD wifi memory cards, launches Eye-Fi Mobi, its latest innovation.
This new card enables mobile, wireless transfer of high-quality images and videos from digital cameras to smartphones and tablets.
Files can then be shared with the rest of the world via social media or e-mail.
No need for a computer or cloud, users will need to download the free Eye-Fi app for iOS or Android and enter the unique 10-digit Mobi card code to pair one or more devices.
Eye-Fi’s features are numerous: WIFI is already integrated, so you don’t have to depend on a WIFI network connection or Internet hotspot, most manufacturers support Eye-Fi technology, and you can share your photos in real time thanks to instant transfer.
On the other hand, the memory card is unable to transfer RAW files and HD/full HD videos, as they are too heavy.
Another innovative point: once the transmission is complete, and the camera is switched off, the card’s WIFI is immediately deactivated. This saves considerable time when you need to connect to another network.
The risk of loss is limited thanks to automatic backup on the 2 storage spaces. (memory card and smartphone)
Eye-Fi has already downloaded more than 500 million photos since its creation, and remains the leading player in this market.
The Mobi 8GB card is priced at €41.99, €61.99 for the 16GB card, and €81.99 for the 32GB card on the Amazon website and http://fr.eyefi.com.
