Preppy ladies at VALENTIN Yudashkin
The preppy style is one of my great favorites. A look that’s always neat and tidy, some would say stuffy, but it doesn’t matter. Clean, well-defined, I prefer it to effortlessly bohemian or sloppy trends. And it’s Valentin Yudashkin that I’ve found my happiness with this season, with pieces so chic and refined that I can’t help but give him my blessing.
Opening with suits strongly reminiscent of Ralph Lauren uniforms, with blazers and blouses tied at the neck, the show evolved into much more assertive garments aimed at young women, highlighting their (supposedly) dreamy silhouettes and measurements in a sculptural way, with plenty of evening wear.
White, gold, red, navy blue, the color palette used by the Russian designer remains basic but is staged in a remarkable way, and it’s the details that seduce. At times reminiscent of Balenciaga or Oscar de La Renta, Valentin Yudashkin remains true to his values and does not disappoint.
To counterbalance these shiny outfits, he doesn’t hesitate to go for finesse and simplicity, and doesn’t overload his outfits, giving a delicate balance to the collection.
