A fleur de peau
Opening Paris Fashion Week and closing Portugal Fashion. The Fatima Lopes show, accompanied by the notes of cellist Julie Sevilla Fraysse, offered us an extraordinary moment of poetry.
For this Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection, the Portuguese designer precisely redraws feminine curves, cutting silhouettes with a trompe l’oeil effect. The shine of leather is juxtaposed with the softness of silk. Bimaterials are used on second-skin dresses and lighter, more fluid sarouel suits that seem to gravitate around the models.
Abstract, Japanese-inspired motifs echo the red, white and black omnipresent in the collection. The Fatima Lopes woman, from her vertiginous platform heels and exotic bibi to her scarlet nails and lips, is both ultra-feminine and sexy.
