My Elevator Is Hype: a new version to get us (even) higher.

Yesterday morning, the www.myelevatorishype.com team officially announced the launch of the second version of the site, which has been a hit since its creation in November 2010.

For the occasion, Willem Germany, aka Mr Elevator himself, is making our mouths water by inviting a number of young, exciting artists to perform at his HQ, the classy “Les Jardins du Marais” hotel (4 stars, please) …Singer Charlie L charms us acoustically in the soft alcove of a room, a duo of sensual dancers rub shoulders with graffiti artist Mad Boyz in the hotel gardens, and Woohoo? (THE up-and-coming theater company) surprise us in the bend of a corridor…

Needless to say, the new version promises to be hype. Very, very hype.

For those (few) who missed it: what’s all this about an elevator?

Late last year, brandy new on the web: Willem Germany, modern-day dandy and jack-of-all-trades, launched www.myelevatorishype.com. A place of encounters, fantasies and daydreams, the elevator is the place that inspired the site’s concept and structure. Headings are transformed into floors, inviting discovery and novelty.

Second floor: Dans L’Ascenseur is the site’s main section. Artists, politicians, film-makers, graphic designers, dancers… are invited to share their personal experiences with us, in complete privacy, as we make our way upstairs.
It doesn’t matter what field they’re in, or whether they’re well-known or not, as long as they embody the spirit of M.E.I.H.: to be the protagonists of one’s own life, and to feel good about it.

Every self-respecting elevator has good music (?), so the floor above is home to the section of the same name (Music, that is), where you can discover a hype-r eclectic playlist.

The Trends section focuses on today’s trendsetters who are looking to tomorrow. Or even the day after tomorrow. Through portraits, the perfect complement to filmed interviews, they tell us about their aspirations, their opinions, their viewpoints on current affairs…

My Elevator Is Hype is a clever and unique concept, original and trendy, inviting us to discover and projecting us into the future.
Internet users have made no mistake: the first version has already won over more than 40,000 people!

What does the second version promise?

New design, new logo, new sounds, even smoother navigation, more interviews, and above all new sections. Among these is the long-awaited Elevator Pitch, which opens a pro window “where people deliver a remarkable business idea during an elevator ride”.
Also look out for the Love Elevator…I can’t wait!

My Elevator Is Hype won’t stop there: a third version is already in the works, with a radio show and TV project.
So watch out! The Elevator is still rising!

Find out more about Mr Elevator himself…

We know very little about him, in fact. This young man in his thirties, who looks like a dandy 2.0, is passionate about everything (music, photography, fashion…). As well as looking after the future of www.myelevatorishype.com, the man who was a professional singer for almost ten years is also in charge of passing on his knowledge to the younger generation.

At ease in a suit, bow tie and hat, he talks about his projects in a soft, calm voice. Generous, he never fails to mention the members of his team, as well as the artists he loves and encourages.

…as well as “Les Jardins du Marais”, the headquarters of www.myelevatorishype.com, where shoots and interviews are conducted:

This charming hotel is located in the heart of Paris, a stone’s throw from the Place de la Bastille. It owes its name to the magnificent open-air garden it conceals from the curious eye of passers-by, one of the largest in the capital. Around it: 7 buildings housing 263 rooms and suites, a restaurant-bar with furniture by artist Philippe Starck, an outdoor lounge…

And an elevator, of course.

Don’t miss the official launch party for the second version of My Elevator Is Hype. Mr Elevator and his team look forward to seeing you on Friday May 27 at L’Arc Paris, starting at 9pm.
