Relive the essentials of this fifteenth edition of Barcelona Fashion Week: Txell Miras: the fashionable designer not to be missed, the three famous fashion houses (Mango, Custo Barcelona, Desigual) put on a show, men’s fashion in the spotlight, etc. A new venue – the Maritime Museum – hosts the runway shows of the 34 designers who present their creations by Txell Miras. Her 3D-worked lines are just as appealing as her cardboard experiments. She remains one of the designers not to be missed. Also not to be missed over the 4 days were the major events organized by the world’s 3 most popular fashion houses: Mango, Custo and Desigual. At Mango, actress Elisa Sednaoui set the tempo for the new summer 2015 collection with its seventies tendencies. As usual, Custo Barcelona is riding the exotic wave with prints that are sophisticated but less eccentric than usual, bringing more charm to a winter collection. As for the famous house of Desigual, it presented its men’s sportswear collection, also in softer tones, which was quite successful. This fashion week was all about men. The collections followed one another, with three main trends to remember: the shirt, constantly reworked, becomes the central element of the wardrobe; knitwear is everywhere, from sweaters to cardigans and chunky scarves. And let’s not forget the jumpsuit, which is a big hit with women and growing in popularity with men. It’s true that for this season, men were more energetic than women, whose main colors revolved around black and gray, while outfits featured hoods and large collars. Even the make-up had a dark side, referring to the wounded and the undead. In short, the collections were rather sad and monotonous. Fortunately, the famous “children’s” fashion shows, such as those at Boboli and CND BY Condor, were a joy to behold.
