Basus is a French brand. We love them, and you’ll no doubt remember our memorable Basus x Luxsure evening earlier this summer.
The style of this brand is minimalist, the details subtle, and the creations entirely made
in Europe. Basus mixes the noblest materials to offer the most demanding men
affordable collections of basics revisited with a touch of exception.
Located at the foot of the confidential rooftop “Le Perchoir” in Paris’ 11th arrondissement, the brand’s creativity springs from the Espace Basus. The boutique is home to the design offices,
, artistic collaborations and collections.
The Cork Project: THE VEGETABLE LEATHER INNOVATION
Seen on the catwalks of haute couture, for the first time vegetable leather has been adapted to a ready-to-wear collection.
With the cork project, Basus aims to democratize cork leather.
100% PLANT-BASED AND ECO-FRIENDLY
Made from carefully selected bark, the extracted cork is naturally treated to give it a feel as soft and resistant as animal leather.
Cork production plays an active role in safeguarding cork oak forests.
In fact, extracting the bark does not require the destruction of the trees and their eco-system.
EASY MAINTENANCE
Cork leather is machine washable and requires no special maintenance.
Over time, it ages and develops the same patina as high-quality animal leather.
With this collection, Basus innovates with precision. Cork leather revives our basics without disguising them. Basus wanted to infuse this collection with the nobility of raw materials, drawing inspiration from industrial design. The cork leather inserts are simple and uncluttered. For the
first time, the brand’s capital letters are applied as patches to
t-shirts and sweatshirts. The capitals are subtly reminiscent of old wooden workshop signs, and in our opinion, there’s no more elegant way to brand “BASUS” products.
The cork leather comes in bias pockets on the T-shirts, as well as zipped pockets on the
bomber-style jackets. Available in white, blue and gray, the models are made entirely in France.
Quality, respect for the environment and style! What more could you ask for?
