With Opera, Buccellati’s new jewelry collection, the company’s landscape is enriched by a fresh, youthful design, always elegant, that preserves the savoir-faire of the Italian jewelry house.
Opera takes its inspiration from the pillars of Italian Renaissance architecture, using the symmetry of motifs and repetitive symbols that gave decorative elements a certain harmony at the time.
The Opera collection is once again the perfect illustration of Italian Renaissance art.
The floral element of the collection is inspired by the company’s logo, which recalls the visual aspect of the dome of the Church of San Carlino in Rome. It also recalls the rose window above the main entrance to the Castello di Roccolo in Busca and the decorations overhanging the columns of the Doge’s Palace in Venice, thus drawing on artistic currents that are a great source of inspiration for Buccellati, from Renaissance to neo-medieval to Venetian Gothic.
It’s a succession of moving historical suggestions that are encapsulated in a decorative element to become the Opera collection, a unique and unforgettable collection.
The shape of the collection’s centerpiece is reminiscent of an imposing theatrical map, while its name Opera evokes arias by famous Italian composers and authors such as Giuseppe Verdi, Gioachino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti, Ruggero Leoncavallo and Vincenzo Bellini.
The connection with Milan’s Teatro della Scala is obvious. Buccellati was born in this city in 1919 and opened its very first boutique there, while continuing to expand internationally for almost a century. Its handcrafted production continues to this day, with the collaboration of hundreds of master craftsmen entirely dedicated to engraving and setting the stones.
Subtle sinuous lines, a harmony of shapes, a play between solid and hollow surfaces; like a tireless pleasure in decoration. The collection features a wide range of jewelry: bracelets, necklaces, sautoirs, rings and earrings.
