Hedi Slimane’s determination and obsession were evident, and the same could almost be said of the catwalk. The girls keep it rock’n’roll, seventies, sensual…. And yet, every season, Slimane takes the very essence of Yves Saint Laurent a step further, reinterpreting it for today’s tastes. A host of ultra-short jackets, perfectos and blazers are worn over leather miniskirts, high-waisted shorts and black pants. Light dresses feature floral, star and even cherry motifs. Gold dresses and tuxedos are worn with a rhinestone turban on the hair or a chic hat, while silver platform shoes are making a comeback. In these silhouettes, we see as much Loulou de la Falaise as Lou Doillon, present in the room, and it’s this power that Slimane possesses…
