KRISVANASSCHE Spring/Summer 2014

Until now, few designers have been able to translate the sportswear trend into the world of luxury as easily as Kris Van Assche. For his Spring/Summer 20014 collection, the designer gave us a hint of what he was about to unveil, thanks to the design of his invitations (an envelope with a polka-dot cutout).

The designer took to the catwalk at the Palais de Tokyo (welcoming his guests with champagne served in “KRISVANASSCHE” cardboard cups), and for this season, he chose to stick to what has made him a success to date: assertive minimalism infused with modernity, reinterpretation and sporty flair.

The color palette at KRISVANASSCHE is refreshing: navy blue, prairie green, orange, red with a hint of fuchsia – strong colors that create striking looks. At Kris Van Assche, we’re not afraid of color, and the total look is there to back up this assertion. When it comes to prints and patterns, Kris Van Assche limits himself to polka dots and crocodile texture (3D printing) on t-shirts.

The designer’s sportswear DNA is of course represented through his interpretation of classics such as trenches, parkas and shirts. The zips present on many pieces are further proof of Kris Van Assche’s chosen inclination.
Bags from his collaboration with the Eastpak brand are present on certain looks.

The KRISVANASSCHE “Cognac Sport” spring/summer 2014 collection was represented by:
Arthur Gosse, Adrien Sahores, Kristoffer Hasslevall, Victor Nylander, Abel Van Oeveren, Justin Sterling, Ben Stift, Ian Sharp, Elliot Vulliod, Luuk Van Os, Georges de Saint-Mars, Matthieu Grégoire, Alex Ferrario, Isaac Ekblad, Ben Allen and Jan Purski, who closed the show.
