In the mid-70s, Charles Swan, played by Charlie Sheen, was a well-known graphic designer. who loves women, all women. But what if the person he loved most was himself?

Roman Coppola’s new film takes us on a frenetic journey. Hallucinations, hysteria and dreams fueled by the self-reflection of Charles, a reckless horseman, when his girlfriend Ivana leaves him. In the Mind of Charles Swan III is a true nod to the life of Charlie Sheen. An actor whose past outbursts scandalized Hollywood mores , and consigned him to the corner of the rejected. He rises from the ashes in this film, in which he exposes his well-known sins: women, alcohol and all his imperfections. A confessional film for therapeutic purposes for the actor, but also an apology for the disorder of creative madness. With the help of his best friend Kirby (Jason Schwartzman), his manager Saul (Bill Murray) and his sister Izzy (Patricia Arquette), and in the fever of his past relationships, he’s going to try his best to reshape his life, in his own way.

Roman Coppola’s imagination, inventiveness and decorative fantasies are reminiscent of Wes Anderson’s unique cinematic universe. With whom he co-wrote the screenplay for his latest film, Moonrise Kingdom.

In the Mind of Charles Swan III is a messy, poetic comedy, in the form of destructive fury deliciously impetuous about lost love, friendship, the passage of time and revenge. The hard journey ofself-evaluation to reconcile with a life without the loved one. The question is asked: Is it possible to love and hate someone at the same time ?
