Meet Muriel Piaser, Tranoi Preview ambassador
With 15 years’ experience at the helm of France’s biggest trade shows, former spokeswoman for Who’s Next and former director of the Salons Prêt-à-porter Paris, she now heads her own consulting agency. She was asked by Armand Hadida to collaborate on this new session twinned with Tranoi Homme, which aims to complement the March and October women’s offer with her expert eye and passion for fashion, with a particular focus on the international market.
She confides in us in a video interview conducted in the MERCI boutique. She talks to us about the show and upcoming fashion trends.
Mr Hadida and Muriel Piaser agree on one point in particular: highlighting the product, and the need to speed up the pace of deliveries to retailers. “Tranoi is different from other shows. It’s located in the heart of Paris. It’s a kind of showroom that’s both generous and intimate. Over the years, I’ve noticed that it’s the most recognized French show abroad. So it was only logical that Tranoï should position itself as the first ”
” session. Tranoï’s specifications always require a selection far removed from sportswear or generalized fashion” Armand Hadida.
On the subject of “Preview”, Muriel Piaser explains, “We now need to anticipate buyers’ expectations, following the example of designers in Northern Europe, who have mastered the art of marketing and the notion of the market. Today, 80% of purchases are made in pre-collections. That’s why it’s imperative to develop “Bis” lines or creative, contemporary, avant-garde brands, which represent the future of our business. A strong product at an attractive price – that’s where today’s fashion revival lies.
In “Preview”, accessories take pride of place. Not without reason. “The accessory market has grown by 3% since 2011. It is now the most dynamic market in our sector. That’s why it’s obvious that we should give it a prominent place in the aisles of the Carrousel du Louvre!”
