On the eve of its 80th birthday, Lacoste pays tribute to its iconic L1212 polo shirt.

In the mid-20s, tennis champion René Lacoste had his own shirts made for his personal use on the courts.
This is the first time a player has abandoned the long-sleeved dress shirt in favor of a soft, comfortable short-sleeved garment.
In 1933, thanks to André Gilliers, he launched industrial production of the polo, which became : L1212
L for Lacoste, 1 for the material Petit piqué de coton, 2 for the short-sleeved model and 12 to indicate the number of the prototype approved and adopted.

Competition in boutiques and on the e-shop:
From December 12, 2012 (12/12/12) the crocodile is organizing a treasure hunt in all its boutiques and eshop.
It’s up to you to find one of the 12 QR codes hidden inside and try to win a weekend in the Lacoste villa at the Sofitel Magador in Essaouira or one of the many L1212 polo shirts.
