Versailles ‘recycles’. The château is definitely in the news. After the contemporary art exhibitions held within the royal residence itself, the noble establishment, no doubt under the impetus of Catherine Pégard, is now boasting about its ecology. Whether the festivities are dedicated to the four hundredth anniversary of Lenôtre’s birth, the atmosphere is bucolic and respectful of ecology. The Grande Maison has chosen to recycle the tarpaulins from one of its most recent exhibitions, Les Dames de Trianon, in order to minimize the impact on the environment. These canvases become objects and bags of all kinds.

Produced in French saddlery, leather goods and luggage workshops, this collection is a first for Versailles. Structured around three ranges – business, city and travel – it can be adapted to every moment of life.
On sale online from November 15, the various pieces are sure to appeal. A new way of looking at art,
